Our History

1924
Ellison Family Roots
Red White & Blue Thrift has deep roots in the thrift store industry, with origins dating back to the 1920s. Our founder, Ray Ellison, came from a legacy of community service, as his parents partnered with the Salvation Army to help establish some of the earliest nonprofit thrift stores in the country.

1948
Red White & Blue
Founder Ray Ellison
After returning from World War II, Ray Ellison, alongside his uncle, opened one of the first for-profit thrift stores. Over the following two decades, Ray successfully managed and operated numerous thrift stores across the country, paving the way for the growth of the industry.

1965
Company Founded
The company was officially founded in 1965, marking the beginning of a long-standing tradition of quality thrift & discount shopping. Our first Red White & Blue Thrift store is still operating in North Miami, Florida.
